The ICCC Election Committee of the International Council of Corvette Clubs (ICCC) is established at the first meeting of the election year and is entrusted with overseeing the fair, transparent, and efficient nomination and election of officers.
ICCC Election Committee Responsibilities
The ICCC Election Committee of the International Council of Corvette Clubs (ICCC) is established at the first meeting of the election year and is entrusted with overseeing the fair, transparent, and efficient nomination and election of officers.
1. Establishment and Authority
- Formed at the first meeting of the election year.
- Empowered under Appendix A of the ICCC Constitution to manage all aspects of nominations, elections, and officer installations.
- Fully sworn to carry out duties outlined in the Constitution and By-Laws.
2. Candidate Qualification Oversight
- Verify that all officer candidates meet membership requirements (Articles I, II, III, and V).
- Ensure candidates are in good financial standing, have attended the required number of meetings, and are present during their nomination.
- Confirm candidates are prepared to deliver a speech on their contributions to ICCC.
3. Nomination Process Management
- Facilitate nominations from the floor during the 1st and 2nd meetings of the election year.
- Close nominations at the adjournment of the 2nd meeting.
- Validate eligibility of all nominees and finalize the ballot for distribution to the membership.
4. Election Administration
- Oversee and administer voting, which may be conducted in person or online.
- Provide electronic voting during the Annual Convention, with on-site voting stations available for members without devices.
- Ensure secure and transparent voting options, including 100% electronic voting in extraordinary circumstances (e.g., pandemics, severe weather).
- Offer assistance to members who need help with the voting process prior to Election Day.
5. Results and Reporting
- Tabulate results and announce official election outcomes during the Annual Convention banquet.
- Document the election process for membership records.
6. Officer Installation
- Manage and conduct the installation ceremony of newly elected officers.
- Ensure installation follows Article V Section III of the Constitution, with officers assuming duties at the first regular scheduled meeting after the election year.
